Helix connectivity hardware now ships as standard on Ingersoll Rand compressors
The Helix Connected Platform streams sensor data from the compressor to a cloud portal, raising service reminders and fault notifications by email, SMS and portal. Ingersoll Rand compressors now leave the factory with the connectivity hardware fitted as standard.
Illustrative photoMaking the hardware standard rather than optional changes the economics of remote monitoring: the sensor cost is already in the machine and only the subscription is a decision.
Older geared centrifugal frames are outside this: an MSG or TURBO-AIR machine of Joy, Cooper or Cameron vintage is monitored through its own control system, and condition data still comes from vibration, temperature and bearing inspection rather than a cloud feed.
