About the MSG TURBO-AIR NX 5000

The MSG TURBO-AIR NX 5000 is an integrally geared centrifugal compressor in the MSG TURBO-AIR NX range. Ingersoll Rand no longer publishes a datasheet for this frame, so the figures a seller quotes for it vary; work from the nameplate and the part number rather than from a published rating.

Lineage: these machines were built in Buffalo, New York, by Joy Manufacturing from 1955, which introduced its first integrally geared centrifugal compressor in 1960. Cooper Industries purchased Joy in 1987, Cooper Cameron Corporation was formed in 1995 and renamed Cameron in 2006. Ingersoll Rand acquired Cameron's centrifugal compression division in 2015 and supports the installed base today, which is why one machine can carry Joy, Cooper, Cameron or Ingersoll Rand markings and still take the same parts.
